About Mindfulleigh

As a mother, parent coach, occupational therapist, and yoga and mindfulness educator, Leigh has found mindfulness to be invaluable in times of stress. Her teachings are inspired by her own hunger for knowledge and research-supported tools and years of supporting parents and teachers as an occupational therapist. In addition, her offerings have developed from her own insights on how to weave mindfulness to find balance in a parenting world that pulls attention in many directions. Her goal is to help you find nuggets of mindfulness as you go about your day so you can show true self-care to yourself.

How mindfulness benefits you

Practicing mindfulness helps us become more aware of our thoughts, feelings, and body sensations. Why is this important? When we are aware of the felt sense in our body and how that connects to our emotions, we are empowered to respond, rather than react when life gets bumpy. As the saying goes, ”Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional.” It is with that awareness we understand challenges will come, but we can choose how we show up in those moments.

In particular, parenting can bring about emotions and challenges we could never imagine. The children we love dearly are our biggest teachers and also push us to know ourselves better.
